The learning areas covered are English, Afrikaans (first additional language), Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Life Orientation, Technology, Arts and Culture and Economic and Social Sciences.
LANGUAGES:
A learner must be able to communicate confidently in spoken language and use language to think, reason , access and process information for learning.
MATHEMATICS:
The five learning outcomes for mathematics deal with the following:
recognise, describe and represent numbers, count, estimate, calculate and check with competence and confidence in solving problems.
NATURAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY:
A learner learns to act confidently on curiosity about natural phenomena and how to apply scientific knowledge.
SOCIAL SCIENCES:
The learners enquiry skills and geographical understanding is developed.
LIFE ORIENTATION:
Informs learners about personal, community and environmental health, as well as constitutional rights and responsibilities.
