How strong are you? Neel Devnarain (16), a Grade 11 pupil at Delta Park School, and Ferndale resident, explained how powerlifting does not necessarily mean being big, it is how much you train through the pain that makes a person become stronger. “A powerlifter does not share his pain in training nor does he share his victory,” explained Devnarain.

Neel is currently competing at the Global Powerlifting World Championships in Las Vegas USA and has received a gold medal. This is after he qualified at the Rhino Powerlifting championships earlier this year. Neel has only been in training for 18 months so this is a fantastic achievement. We wish him well at the competition and look forward to some good results from him. We are very proud of you Neel.
